Everyone working in complex stakeholder environments knows the amount of coordination it takes to move a group of people through a collaboration. Or if you ever tried moving your friends from one party to another, you'll get the point too. Getting the best work out of a collaboration requires hard work of itself. You'll have to work on creating a community around your challenge, so you can get to the top of the mountain together.

It all starts with the right ecosystem design. Not just who takes part, but also when and how. Nothing stands more in the way of a vibrant ecosystem than potential participants having the feeling there is little to gain or contribute at the moment they invest their time. Our experience enriched with insights from literature on innovation systems has taught us how to involve and not to involve your stakeholders in the co-design process.

Creating Communities in decentralized sustainability and digital product passports
Our coalition consists of many different members, forming a triple-helix innovation system of government, industry and research institutions. We work with Regen Studio, first in the role of leading our thematic area in sustainability and energy and later in the lead for the building block of Digital Product Passports.
Especially since our coalition is in transformation and the technical themes are novel and uncertain, the challenge of organizing our member-base is enormous. With Regen Studio we have succeeded in organizing our members to contribute to numerous community events, joint webinars, research, blogs and projects for within and beyond our coalition.

Building digital communities with Alkemio.
At Regen Studio, we always think of modern ways to organise collaboration and innovation. That is why we have accepted the role as an accredited innovation professional of the Alkemio ecosystem, an open source digital challenge-centered collaboration platform managed as a non-profit. This way we can built digital innovation processes for our clients, either to support their physical activities or even create fully digital-native innovation flows for anyone to use. We believe in a future of open innovation project management without ever sending an e-mail.
